Felicity Cloake
Felicity is a freelance writer specialising in food, drink and travel.
Formerly Deputy Editor at Fresh Magazine, where she was lucky enough to land such tough commissions as a day’s fishing with the delightful Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, a tour around the wineries of South Africa’s Western Cape and a pastry-making lesson from Raymond Blanc, she now writes on everything from restaurants to the world’s smelliest cheeses.
Her favourite foodie destination is Hong Kong, and, having recently achieved her Advanced Certificate in Wines & Spirits with distinction, she would dearly love to go wine tasting in Alsace some time in the near future.

Food Hotel: Mesmear, North Cornwall
Last Wednesday at 8am, I was on the tube, snuggled into a stranger’s armpit on my way to City Airport. A couple of hours later, I was motoring through the daffodil-fringed lanes of north Cornwall in the sunshine.

Time to eat: South African pears
The pear is one of the homeliest residents of our fruit bowl – so imagine my surprise when, on a recent trip to South Africa, I was served some of the finest examples I’ve ever had the pleasure of biting into.

Restaurant review: Aqua Kyoto, London
With impeccable cocktails and splashily glam surrounds, Felicity Cloake might have found the perfect place to begin a night out in the West End.

Restaurant review: Greens, London
The menu is familiar territory, but none the less enticing for that, even for those of us who were never lucky enough to find smoked salmon in our tuckboxes.

Foodtripper: The Collection has just launched. This boutique selection of the world's best cookery holidays brings global gourmet retreats direct to your fingertips... your very own delicious escape is just a click away. On Foodtripper TV, we’ve invited top chef Rowley Leigh to make the most of Spain's short-lived Picota cherry season, cooking up a classic clafoutis. And we have a fab holiday to Spain's Jerte Valley for one lucky individual.

In anticipation of a long, hot, British summer I stay close to home dropping by Le Cafe Anglais where Rowley Leigh - just turned 60 - shares future plans for the restaurant and role as poster boy for the forthcoming Picota cherry season. Across town, at The Lanesborough, Heinz Beck's elegant summer menu is served. Go there for the chaud-froid Herbal infusion with tuna tartare and green tea sorbet - more Mediterranean gluttony than molecular gastronomy.

Foodtripper met the most lauded chefs on earth at The World's Fifty Best Restaurant Awards. Taking 1st prize is Noma in Copehagen knocking El Bulli off the top spot and sending a ripple effect through the chart. Heston moves down to 3rd place. Hibiscus is in, by a whisker, at number 49 leaving the total number of Brits in the top 50 at a mere three.
