Spring has well and truly sprung- in fact, you'd be forgiven for thinking we'd skipped straight to summer. We've been frantically busy at Foodtripper, celebrating both the lovely weather and the duo of bank holidays- and have a host of brand new features to usher in the season.
Jason Freedman is a Kentish lad with a great seaside restaurant, The Minnis- and we took a jaunt to find out what makes the innovative chef tick. We've been upcountry, too- experiencing foraged ingredients on Andrew Pern's menus at The Star Inn, North Yorkshire. Back in town, Galvin at Windows is our preferred vantage point for the forthcoming Royal Wedding.
Keen to expand our minds as well as waistlines, we've been relaxing and reading at London's fascinating Food Room & Library. Our picks of the season's new crop of cookbooks are 'A Month In Marrakech' and the lavish 'Rose Petal Jam'- both reviewed on the site.
Just in time for Easter, we've got a luscious little selection of goodies to be won- eggs from Prestat and Harrods, and an indulgent chocolate orange cream liqueur from Demijohn.
Finally, don't forget to check out our TV series, Food Tripper, airing now on
Travel Channel on Sky 251. New episodes are being filmed on location as I write.
Off for a spot of spring cleaning... Or perhaps a cheeky Pimms.
Enjoy,
Helen
