British Bakery hosted by the nation’s favourite stars pops up in store.
January 2013: Fortnum & Mason launches its first ever pop-up bakery. From Mark Hix’s great British pies and cakes to the freshest loaves from Paul Hollywood, visitors to the store can enjoy 10 exclusive weeks of indulgence from the nation’s most treasured baking talents.
Kicking off on Monday 28th January and running until the Sunday 7th April, dishes from each guest baker will be served at the Fortnum’s British Bakery for a period of two weeks, when they will also host a series of masterclasses.
The names set to star in this ten-week baking extravaganza include chef and restaurateur, Mark Hix, Paul Hollywood, Edd Kimber, author of ‘The Boy Who Bakes’ and ‘Say It With Cake’ and the first winner of The Great British Bake-Off and Stacie Stewart, the MasterChef finalist and ‘Sweet Baking’ judge on ITV’s forthcoming cookery show ‘Food Glorious Food’.
As well as enjoying their expertly crafted baked goodies, you can also learn from the masters, with a series of demonstrations and hands-on baking classes throughout the ten-week period.  Coinciding with the pop-up, visitors will also find a host of other home baking heroes and heroines making guest appearances at Fortnum’s in early 2013, including:
Wednesday 30th January: Chef’s Dinner with Lorraine Pascale.  Celebrated Chef Lorraine Pascale will share her expertise, her passion for innovation and her all-time favourite recipes, both savoury and sweet in this celebratory three-course dinner. Ticket price £50.
Tuesday 26 February: To mark the launch of Mary Berry and Lucy Young’s book, Mary Berry at Home, join the authors for afternoon tea in Fortnum’s Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon.  Ticket price, £65 which includes a signed copy of Mary Berry at Home.
Customers can find out more at or should call 0845 602 5694 to reserve their place at one of the events.  Located on the First Floor at Fortnum’s, the British Bakery will also have a dedicated retail section offering everything from the best baking ingredients to homewares and cook books.
