The Good Food Guide Unites L’Enclume’s Simon Rogan and London Chef Jason Atherton for an Evening to Savour
 
To celebrate The Good Food Guide’s 60th anniversary, Simon Rogan of L’Enclume, the famed Cartmel-based restaurant, is teaming up with the London chef Jason Atherton to offer fine dining fans a tasting evening par excellence on Tuesday 8th March 2011.  This unique evening will take place at L’Enclume in Cumbria.  
 
Diners will enjoy a 14 course tasting menu with accompanying wines along with a chance to find out more about two of the UK’s finest chefs.  Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor of The Good Food Guide will lead a Q&A with Jason (former Gordon Ramsay protégé and head chef of the soon to be opened Pollen Street Social in London) and Simon (head chef, L’Enclume).  Tickets cost £150 per head and are available directly from L’Enclume on 01539 536362.

Pickled ‘Purple Azur’ with fresh curds,
Rocket and hazelnut
Smoked Fowy oyster and chicken royale
With cabbage pesto
Salt and vinegar crispy rice, cod ‘yolk’, watercress,
Cream of egg and garlic
Cornish Crab, various radishes,
Brown bread ice cream
Vintage potatoes in onion ashes, whey sauce
And sorrel
English squid served in a back to front risotto,
Roasted squid consommé
Hay baked sweetbreads and parsley
Caramelised cauliflower and ramsons
London-cure Salmon, horseradish, roasted cucumber,

Munt-jac deer, slow-roasted beetroot, oats-seeds-nuts,

Cream crowdie with douglas fir
