Line up of 13 International Michelin-starred Chefs and New Afternoon Programme Announced On Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November 2009, Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand will, for the third consecutive year, host the culinary Stars, Food & Art event.
This exceptional gastronomical experience will see thirteen internationally renowned chefs, with some 26 Michelin stars between them, preparing their signature dishes together at two ultra stylish gala evenings.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Amsterdam department of the Dutch Red Cross. In addition, and new this year, there will be ‘The Grand Carousel of Senses’, an interactive exploration of food, wine and the senses.
Guests will be treated to five different moods: bold, extravagant, serene, nostalgic and sensual, demonstrating that gastronomy and the emotions are inextricably linked. Presented by Jonnie and Thérèse Boer of Michelin-starred restaurant De Librije in Zwolle, the event takes place from 12 – 2pm on 7th November. Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand, a historic landmark in Amsterdam and soon to join the Sofitel Legends collection of hotels, in cooperation with culinary journalist and author Lise Goeman Borgesius, have organised this gathering of star chefs to both stimulate and surprise the taste buds.
Sommelier Hans Tuin of Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand, will select and pour complementing wines. The following chefs will be cooking on the evenings as outlined below:

Cover price & reservations Tickets to this exclusive event are available for €650 (£607) per person per evening which includes six courses with wines. The proceeds will be donated to the Amsterdam branch of the Dutch Red Cross. Reservations are required. The event will commence at 7:00pm on both days. Prior reservations are also required for ‘The Grand Carousel of Senses’ on 7th November at 12 noon and tickets cost €125 (£117) per person.
