Ripe'n'ready for UK cherries?
Saturday 18th July is the date set for the second National Cherry Day, an event pioneered by Food Lovers' Britain. To celebrate, restaurants countrywide, such as The Harrow Inn in Wiltshire; Tom Ilic and Anna Hansen’s The Modern Pantry in London, and Barny Haughton’s Bordeaux Quay in Bristol will be showcasing the fruit on their menus.
Kent's the ready hub for the festivities- Grow at Brogdale fruit farm near Faversham will host cooking demonstrations, orchard walks and let you try hundreds of traditional varieties. Nearby orchards will also open up to the public, putting on music and entertainment. There's also a great 'Cherry Ripe' food trail to download for free at
