London: Artesian at The Langham Awarded World's Best Bar for second year in a row

For the second year in succession, Artesian has been crowned with the highly coveted award of ?World?s Best Bar? by Drinks International magazine. This is the latest in a series of awards that has been bestowed on the chic and glamorous bar at The Langham, London.
In 2012 Artesian scooped ?Best European Bar? trophy at Cocktails and Spirit Awards, Paris, ?World?s Best Hotel Bar? at the highly regarded Spirited Awards 2012, Tales of Cocktail, New Orleans as well as Head Mixologist Alex Kratena receiving ?Bar Personality of the Year Award? by Imbibe Magazine and ?International Bartender of The Year? in the same year.
Artesian VideoThese accolades recognize the flare and creativity of Kratena and his mixologist partner Simone Caporale and their buoyant enthusiasm to constantly innovate and conjure up remarkable cocktail experiences. Their latest initiative being a new cocktail menu presented in a circular satin aluminium folder, with cocktails listed on a flavour wheel that is colour-coded according to the style and flavours of each cocktail. It is playful and interactive and allows guests to choose progressive cocktails and unusual flavour combinations. To accompany this, the duo has posted new video footage to showcase the new menu.
The Langham?s tradition for innovation dates back to 1865 when the hotel originally opened as Europe?s first ?Grand Hotel? and boasted a 365 foot deep well which originally supplied all the fresh water for the guests, the inspiration for bar?s name - Artesian. This stunning bar designed by the late David-Collins has become the glamorous watering hole and social hub for chic Londoners.
