London: Antonio Roveda named Head Sommelier at One-O-One

The Sheraton Park Tower, a Luxury Collection Hotel in London’s chic Knightsbridge district, has announced the appointment of Antonio Roveda as the new Head Sommelier of awarding-winning fish restaurant One-O-One.  Antonio joins the One-O-One team from Gordon Ramsay’s Maze Restaurant.
Originally from Milan, Antonio began his career as a sommelier in 2001 at the Antica Osteria Bettolino in the city. In 2003, he moved to Wine Bar La Viola in Milan.  It was during his time here that he completed a course with the Italian Sommelier’s Association and cemented his passion for wine.
Following his move to London in early 2005, Antonio gained huge experience as a sommelier at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, including Zafferano, Le Gavroche and Apsleys by Heinz Beck at The Lanesborough.  Roveda also spent eighteen months at The Ritz in London where his team were awarded Hotel Restaurant Team of the Year in 2009.  Whilst in London, Antonio completed courses with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and in Food & Beverage Management at Cavendish College.
Recently recognised as the sixth best restaurant in Britain by The Sunday Times Food List, One-O-One is famed for its outstanding, creative fish and seafood dishes. Antonio will be using his expertise to ensure the wine list at One-O-One continues to reflect and complement the high standard of the food served in the restaurant.  He will also be launching a series of wine tasting sessions in One-O-One, set to begin in May 2012.
