Switzerland: Master Sommelier joins Kulm Hotel, St Moritz

Switzerland, January 2012: Kulm Hotel St. Moritz (www.kulmhotel-stmoritz.ch) is delighted to announce that it now has its own Master Sommelier.  Benjamin Wolf is one of 186 graduates worldwide of The Court of Master Sommeliers.
 
The 29-year-old expert of German-Colombian origin is one of only four German-speaking graduates and the only Master Sommelier in the Engadine.  Throughout the winter season, until 8 April 2012, Benjamin  will be hosting a complimentary wine tasting, exclusively for hotel guests, every Thursday, during which guests will discover the nuances and flavours of selected fine wines.
 
Both aspiring and renowned wine connoisseurs are in good hands with Wolf.  He started his career helping out with wine production in Tuscany.  He then moved to the UK, where he expanded his knowledge as Assistant Cellar Master to Master Sommelier Eric Zwiebel at the award-winning Summer Lodge Restaurant & Spa in Dorset.  He then moved to its sister property, Hotel d'Angleterre in Geneva, where he established an excellent reputation as the Head Sommelier in the gourmet restaurant.  In 2009, he was awarded the title of second best sommelier in Switzerland, the same year that he gained his Master Sommelier title.
 
After the wine tasting, guests might like to sample the Chef's Table, where they will have a unique opportunity to peer over the shoulders of the Chef de Cuisine Hans Nussbaumer, who has 15 Gault Millau points.  At the Chef's Table, six to ten guests dine in the hotel's kitchen among steaming pots, surrounded by the scent of fine aromas. Admission to the Chef's Table on Thursdays is free of charge for half-board guests.  The cost for visitors (not residing in the hotel) is CHF 195 (approx £130) per person including aperitif, 4-course menu paired with corresponding wines.  Prior booking is required.
