Delicately concocted in the kitchen of Peter Jones, chefs at the landmark Chelsea branch of John Lewis have reinvented a traditional Christmas treat and created the Ultimate Mince Pie.
Available from the Peter Jones Brasserie from 3rd December, the Ultimate Mince Pie will be served hot as part of a sumptuous afternoon tea with smooth brandy butter and warming mulled wine – treating customers to the perfect, relaxing break from their Christmas shopping.
Made from the finest festive ingredients, the Ultimate Mince Pie is the epitome of Christmas luxury. Encased in two types of pastry – a basket of flakey puff pastry and a lid of sweet shortcrust pastry – the mincemeat is a fragrant blend of orange zest and dried fruit soaked in full-bodied apricot brandy, seasoned with traditional Christmas spices and finely dusted with icing sugar.
