Singapore: The Fullerton Bay Hotel unveils six new suites

The hotel’s five suites are themed after the Chinese, Malay, Indian, Peranakan and Colonial cultures all very present in Singapore and are named after prolific ex-Governors of the Straits Settlements – Sir Hugh Clifford Sir Shenton Thomas, Sir William Cleaver Francis Robinson, Sir John Anderson and Major General Sir William Orfeur Cavenagh. Meanwhile, The Presidential Suite is a combination of the ethnic cultures, colonial influences and cosmopolitan qualities of present day Singapore – a vibrant fusion of East, West, past and present.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel is situated between the Clifford Pier which was built in 1933, and the Customs House which was built in the 1960s. Both buildings played important roles in Singapore’s history and saw the arrival of many early settlers. “The respect for heritage is one of the unique and distinct elements of both The Fullerton Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel. In a tribute to the iconic location, The Fullerton Bay Hotel features glamorous and exquisite interior designs, vintage and contemporary art which reflect the harmony between Singapore’s heritage and modernity.” says Mr Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Heritage.

Each of the stunning suites is adorned with unique artwork and antiques, signature fabrics and decorative items that embody their distinctive themes alongside contemporary pieces.

“We hope travellers will enjoy the subtle historical and cultural references woven discreetly into the modernity of the suites’ design,” commented a spokesperson for LCL Architects, the Hong Kong-based designers who are responsible for all guestrooms in The Fullerton Bay Hotel. “The core design elements of the suites are predominant while colour, artworks, feature rugs, soft furnishings and signature cultural items distinguish each suite’s unique theme. The suites are designed with a palette of finishes, fittings and accessories that create an ambience or vibe that is authentic to the particular ethnic theme.”

At its prime waterfront location at Marina Bay, the chic hotel exudes a classical and elegant atmosphere as it simultaneously encapsulates the heritage and modernity of Singapore.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore is located at 80 Collyer Quay, Singapore 049326. Telephone: (65) 6333 8388, Website: www.fullertonbayhotel.com
