The month kicks off at The Sydney Opera House on the 1st October, with celebrated big name chefs, including the UK’s own Michelin-starred Marcus Wareing, showcasing their talents and the latest foodie trends. The obligatory Barbecue Madness launch weekend (October 2) will set Sydney sizzling and buzzy hawker-style Night Noodle Markets will take place in Sydney’s own Hyde Park (from October 11 - 22).
The festival continues with Hats Off dinners, Let's Do Lunch, Cocktail of the Month, picnics, classes, tours, tastings and street events galore - Sydney's biggest food month ever. This is an event that will appeal to food and wine lovers from all over the world.
It is impossible to fly non-stop to Australia from the UK, however, a very logical route is via Seoul to Sydney with Korean Air on its daily service. To help the journey whiz by, Korean Air offers the latest in-flight entertainment – movies, features, news, games and over 300 music choices – and, to start your culinary journey on the right foot, delicious cuisine, including the famous Korean dish Bibimbap.
Seoul’s state-of the-art Incheon Airport is a great place to break the journey – awarded the highest Skytrax 5 star status for its facilities, including the usual shopping and restaurants as well as massage rooms, shower rooms and a relaxing hub lounge. Korean Air also operates three flights per week to Melbourne and Brisbane and with competitively priced fares too - in economy, business and first class! Daily flights to and from London Heathrow to Sydney with Korean Air start from £788.00 including taxes and fuel surcharge. Based on travel in October 2010. Fares are accessible through reservations on 0800 413 000 or on www.koreanair.com
