Mauritius: Belle Mare Peninsula's Long Beach Hotel opening planned for December 2010

“Long Beach is an elegant and affable beach holiday heaven that meets the aspiration of the trendy and sophisticated consumer because of its exceptional beach side location, its unique blend of modern and tropical architecture and landscaping, upbeat atmosphere with superlative service and recreational facilities together with an array of high quality dining experiences,” says Arnaud Martin, Chief Marketing Officer of Sun Resorts.

The new hotel of 255 keys, all with sea views, is intended to be a contemporary tropical 5 star resort for active men and women who appreciate culture and style, and their families, as well as welcoming corporate incentive bookings, conferences and other groups.

Long Beach brings carefree piazza-style living to the longest and widest stretch of white-sand coastline of any Mauritian resort to date, with a spectacular beachfront 700 metres long and 40 metres wide. The adjacent lagoon, sheltered by a constellation of rare coral formations harbouring a rich underwater fauna, is a snorkelling and water sports paradise.

“The architecture of Long Beach combines tropical interpretations with a contemporary urban style softened by natural forms, local detailing and materials. The gardens, totalling almost 500,000 plants with 26 varieties of endemic species, is a key feature of the resort which blend seamlessly with the architectural structures and buildings,” explains Nicolas de Chalain, newly appointed General Manager of Long Beach. Furthermore, in line with Sun Resorts’ environmental positioning, Long Beach is committed to deliver exceptional services whilst taking action to reduce the impact its activities have on the environment.
