Take an Italian Tour at Whole Foods Market

If Italian food makes you think of summer and you’re keen to know and taste more, Whole Foods Market is planning a week of food events, tastings and demonstrations to give your summer eating and recipe ideas a boost.

The Italian Gourmet Journeys week featuring the best of Whole Foods Markets’ Italian artisan food producers runs from 17th to 25th May 2010. Highlights include:
Monday 17th May
Special Kids Club from 5 to 6pm. Beekeeping suit dressing up and mini pizza making, £5 per head.
• Tuesday 18th May
An Italian Supper Club – ‘Cena a casa’. Whole Foods Market’s in house chef will prepare a beautiful four course typically Italian meal featuring a special antipasti plate of the best San Daniele hams. Experts will be on hand to give a tutored tasting of the hams. In addition, a special cheese course will be provided by La Credenza. Still just £10 per head, Italian wines will be served as an extra cost.
• Thursday 20th May
Thirsty Thursday event. For just £5 per head customers can sample a range of Italian recipes with matching wines from around the store.
• Friday 21st /Saturday 22nd/ Sunday 23rd
An Italian tasting Weekend. In store tastings and demonstrations including: - Fresh pasta making from the Fresh Pasta Company - A visit from the Seggiano Bee keeper and honey sampling - A demonstration of fresh pesto making and sampling pesto in olive wood pestle and mortar - Seggiano Olive wood carver- carving chopping boards and other products in store - Seggiano Pecorino cheese and specialist olive oil sampling All the events listed above will take place at Whole Foods Market Kensington.
