Helen Hokin's Autumn Picks

This October Iceland Express celebrates Local Food Month with a brand new food guide. Passengers flying with the airline in the month of October will enjoy a 10% discount from their total food bills at five top restaurants by presenting their boarding card. I took a trip to Reykjavik to put five of its recommendations to the taste test.

It's Halloween and my favourite London food emporium, Fortnums, is hosting a pumpkin carving extravaganza on October 31st.

From Italy, Travel Writer Christopher Beanland writes a fascinating account of how food meets politics in Lombardy.

And on Food Tripper TV we are showing some of the highlights of our latest adventures.

Enjoy

Helen Hokin: I’m considering relocating to Barbados. I could swap my reindeer onesie for a designer one-piece and save on heating bills without the hassle of switching suppliers every other month.

Travelling to a different part of the world usually means sampling the local cuisine, but if you’re headed somewhere as uninhabited and challenging as the Antarctic, then you only get to eat what you bring with you.
