After arrival the day before the tour begins with a morning visit to the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China which covers 294 hectares. Lunch is served at The Hall of Listen Orioles where the 19th centurt Empress Dowager Cixi enjoyed her meals and watched her favourite Beijing Opera. In the afternoon, visit the Tian’an Men Square, the world’s largest city square which can hold over one million people. Visit the majestic, yet intricate palatial complex of the Forbidden City, with its endless trove of palaces and treasures. Dinner has been arranged at Fangshan Restaurant in Beihai Park, which was built in 1925 by former Royal chefs of the Qing Dynasty.
