Singapore: Rooftop, Lantern opens on city's newest hotel

Take a dip in the 25-metre rooftop swimming pool and soak up the surroundings from this urban oasis, the perfect spot for an afternoon's respite or a cocktail with friends. In the evening Lantern turns into a dazzling rooftop bar, illuminated by glittering lights, where guests can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the bar's own live Latin band. It is the ideal spot for a romantic rendezvous, glamorous cocktail parties or glitzy events.
The Lantern offers a contemporary gourmet snack menu featuring tapas style dishes, salads and tantalizing grilled meats and fish, whilst drinks include a selection of champagnes, fine wines and swanky cocktails designed by Lantern's very own mixologist.
Lantern derives its name from Clifford Pier's historical Chinese name - "Red Lantern Pier". It was a landing point for Singapore's first immigrants and red lanterns used to hang from the pier as a guide to seafarers.
Lantern is one of three signature dining destinations at the hotel which are all designed by Asia's highly sought-after design wunderkind, Andre Fu. The others include, The Landing Point and Clifford. The Landing Point is elegantly positioned alongside an impressive indoor promenade paved in bespoke marble mosaics with a majestic 13-metre long bar and spacious outside terrace.
Alternatively, the modern brasserie Clifford, is illuminated by magnificent 10-metre floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the waters of the bay. Guests are greeted by an opulent 800-bottle wine library meticulously handpicked from all over the world. The main dining section seats up to 76 and is cleverly designed with vintage furnishings in warm grey, burnt orange and dark aubergine set against the towering ivory French panelling and masculine herringbone oak floors. The restaurant also offers al fresco dining on the terrace as well as a private dining room.
Lantern is open daily from 12.00pm to 2.00am and for enquiries, please call (65) 6597 5299. For more information on The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, please visit
